Professional Biography
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Türker Yücesoy represents the academic vanguard of oral and maxillofacial surgery in Turkey. His career is a synthesis of rigorous university research and high-complexity private practice — a dual path that ensures clinical protocols are informed by the latest scientific evidence.
Born in Gaziantep in 1987, he entered the Hacettepe University Faculty of Dentistry in 2005 and graduated in 2010. He began his doctorate in oral and maxillofacial surgery in 2011, continued his studies at St George’s University in the United Kingdom in 2012 and at the University of Florence in Italy in 2014, and completed his doctorate and specialty in 2016.
From 2017 to 2021 he pursued his academic career at Bezmialem Vakıf University in Istanbul as a lecturer and assistant professor. He has been treating patients at his own clinic since 2021, received the title of Associate Professor in 2023, and has been a faculty member at Istanbul Galata University since January 2026.
In the clinical setting, Dr. Yücesoy specializes in oral and maxillofacial surgery, a field that bridges the gap between traditional dentistry and medical surgery. He is internationally recognized for his work in complex rehabilitations, jaw contouring, and temporomandibular joint (TMJ) disorders.
Research and Clinical Trajectory
Beyond his private practice, Dr. Yücesoy is a prolific clinician-scientist. He has 23+ peer-reviewed scientific publications in oral & maxillofacial surgery, dental implants, jawbone rehabilitation and implant stability — with work published in journals including the Journal of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, Journal of Cranio-Maxillofacial Surgery and The International Journal of Oral & Maxillofacial Implants; cited by researchers affiliated with Harvard Medical School, Trinity College Dublin and the University of Cape Town. He has also given more than thirty oral and poster presentations at congresses and symposiums, and in 2019 he won the best poster award in his field at the FDI World Dental Congress.
He has taken part in many projects funded by university scientific research programs as coordinator and researcher. His professional interests focus on custom-designed subperiosteal implants, peripheral nerve regeneration, low-level laser therapy, ozone therapy, dentofacial deformities, cleft lip and palate, temporomandibular joint surgery, maxillofacial trauma and dental implantology. For about five years he taught nerve regeneration, oral diseases, and oral and maxillofacial surgery at the faculty of dentistry.
